Royal barge procession is my concept. I chose simple shape by keep down a detail on piece for look minimal. My target group is teenager. Because of original Thai chess look old and not interesting than chess in others country. So, I design Thai chess to look modern and have Thai characteristic. My chess have massage about biography of Royal barge procession for teenager. When they play, they will get a story and names of barge procession.
CONCEPT
CHARACTERISTIC
------- KING -------
Royal Barge Suphannahong
I chose Suphannahong to be king because, the Royal Barge Suphannahong. It's a main barge of procession. It like hart procession. So, It should be king.
------- QUEEN -------
Royal Barge Anantanakkharat
I chose Anantanakkaharat for my queen because, Royal Barge Anantanakkharat is a barge for king but, In my chess, I bring it for a queen because
Suphannahong is an identity of procession but, Anantanakkharat is not identity.
------- BISHOP -------
The Ekachi Hern Hao Barge & Ekachi Lao Thong Barge
In procession of this barge is always staying beside the Suwanahong, which act as a protection to the king.
It should be bishop because; In this procession this is twin barge. In chess, it same position to bishop.
------- KNIGHT -------
Krut Hern Het I chose Krut Hern Het because the form of Krut itself has its own beauty and also look elegant and The Kurt is also consider as a horse in Thai chess.
------- ROOK -------
Tong kwarn fah Barge This barge will follow to Ekachai Hern Hao Barge and Ekachai Lao Thong Barge.
------- PAWN -------
Dhung barge
This barge is considered to have the lowest of all. This barge is full of soldier for protect the king. The position of this boat is surround others boat.
